Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion by dermatologist
-
Microdermabrasion is a time tested procedure used to improve acne scars, pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and also enhances the overall texture of the skin.
-
Microdermabrasion is one of the most common cosmetic procedures done worldwide. Although the results may vary from person to person, side effects are not seen and reasonably good results can be expected on Indian skin.
-
Microdermabrasion can be easily modified according to each individual skin type depending on the texture and sensitivity.
-
The procedure involves blasting silica crystals at very high speeds onto the skin. This process is not like scrubbing but involves removing the upper skin using these high speed crystals.
-
Even though the upper layers of the dermis gets peeled off, the positive changes take place deeper inside the dermis which includes collagen remodelling and formation of new collagen. This process is generally without pain but one may feel a pricking sensation on the skin which is quite tolerable for most people.
-
The procedure requires no anaesthesia and has no downtime. The client can go back to work immediately after the procedure.
-
At Dr. Sachith's clinic, we take utmost care to ensure optimal results for you. However the results may be variable from patient to patient and always remember during all these treatments the safety of your skin is the first priority.
-
The entire process should last for about 15 to 50 minutes, after which a diamond wand can also be used.
-
Following this a high speed jet of saline and vitamin C is injected into the skin which has a relaxing and cooling effect on the skin.
-
This procedure is different from traditional dermabrasion. Dermabrasion involves significant injury to the skin and has a lot of downtime and may carry risks, hence we do not advise dermabrasion.
-
In microdermabrasion, slight peeling can occur after which creams be used.
