Chemical Peel

Chemical Peel by dermatologist

  • Chemical peel done by a skin doctor in Bangalore, is a treatment for melasma, chloasma, fine lines, wrinkles and for overall rejuvenation of the skin, besides being an antiaging procedure.

  • If regularly done it is an excellent antiaging procedure. It is a simple and extremely sensitive procedure and hence must be done only by an expert doctor.

  • The peel is a procedure which has no downtime  but it  requires regular sunscreen use.

  • Unique chemical peels have been developed for optimum results in our clinic in Bangalore.

  • A Special peel using a combination of retinol and TCA is done in our clinic for fine lines and wrinkles.

  • A chemical usually glycolic  or trichloracetic acid is applied to the face and neck which will eventually make it peel off, thereby stimulating collagen formation. Peels are another form of collagen induction treatment. Alpha and beta hydroxy acids like lactic acid, glycolic, mandelic acid and trichloacetic acid are used to achieve maximum collagen induction.

  • Peels have been used for more than 5 decades safely. The fundamental principle of this peel procedure is a controlled burn of the outermost layers of the epidermis with acids like glycolic, lactic or kojic acids. After the skin recovers, it is smooth and without acne, scars or pigmentation. 5 to 12 sittngs may be required to achieve the results.

  • Chemical peels cannot change the size of pores or treat skin laxity. These peels have to be done weekly or biweekly and your dermatologist will decide the schedule and number of treatments.

  • The results may vary from one  person to another and some conditions like melasma require continuous treatment to prevent relapse.

  • Acne scars usually do not respond to chemical peeling and may require other aggressive treatments like microneedling.

  • Pigmentation and uneven skin colour respond well to glycolic, lactic and trichloracetic acid.

  • Peels in our advanced dermatology clinic in Bengaluru are extremely safe with predictable results. At Dr Sachith's clinic  we also use a special peel called flashpeel using diluted TCA for acne scars and hyper pigmentation.
